• BROWN'S REQUIEM: Allison & Busby LTD. 1984, hardback. (ISBN: 0-85031-544-1). Cover by Peter Rozycki. First U.K. edition and first hardback edition of Ellroy's first novel. Rare. $500.

• BROWN'S REQUIEM: The Armchair Detective Library, 1994 (ISBN: 1-56287-068-8). Limited edition, burgundy in burgundy slipcase. 100 signed, # editions ($75); 26 lettered ($150). First American hardcover edition. A trade edition (ISBN: 1-56287-067-X) was also issued. $25.

• CLANDESTINE: Avon, 1982, paperback (ISBN: 0-380-81141-3). The true first edition of Ellroy's second novel. $75.

• CLANDESTINE: Allison & Busby LTD., 1984, hardback (ISBN: 0-85031-570-0). Cover by Peter Rozycki. This U.K. edition is the only hardcover edition of Ellroy's second novel. $600.

• BLOOD ON THE MOON: Mysterious Press, 1984 (ISBN: 0-89296-069-8). Ellroy's first American hardcover edition. First in Lloyd Hopkins Trilogy. $120.

Unfortunately, rubbing of the gray-green dustcover is the norm with this edition. It is very hard to find in mint or near-mint condition.$225, minimum, even with some rubbing of the fragile cover.
