The only hardcover edition was published in the U.K. by Century in an extremely limited run. Contents include:

Out Of The PastEllroy's tribute to Dick Contino, and backstory regarding the writing of Ellroy's novella, "Dick Contino's Blues," that appeared in Granta Magazine and the short story collection, "Hollywood Nocturnes."

My Mother's KillerJames' first pass at writing a non-fiction account of his mother's murder. Inspired his memoir, "My Dark Places."

Sex, Glitz and Greed: The Seduction of O.J. SimpsonEllroy's take on the most famous "unsolved" murder of the late 20th-Century.

The Tooth of CrimeThe Demon Dog of American Crime Fiction runs with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau, nicknamed the "Bulldogs."

Bad Boys in TinseltownEllroy recounts the experience of watching his most convoluted, "adaptation-proof" novel turned into an Oscar-winning, critic-pleasing film.

Hollywood ShakedownAnother Contino short, this one tracking Dick's life immediately post-prison/post-Korea.

Body DumpsEllroy and retired L.A. homicide detective Bill Stoner investigate another murder in El Monte (the same town in which James' mother was murdered). This piece centers around the murder of a woman committed in 1973.

Hush-HushEllroy introduces his character Danny Getchell, a scandal rag reporter with an annoying adoration for alliteration. Arguably, this story represents the first in a series of Ellroy misfires: the Getchell character seems, by-and-large, to sit wrong with many readers. The character is also used to center a short story contest sponsored by USA Today Magazine, in which readers are asked to finish a Getchell tale penned by Ellroy.

Let's Twist AgainEllroy revisits the past in a piece recalling his years as a student at John Burroughs Junior High.

Glamour JungleEllroy and Det. Bill Stoner re-open the unsolved murder of 1960's starlet Karyn Kupcinet.

Tijuana, Mon AmourAnother Getchell tale.
